Who We Are
This website is gospels-explained.com, operated by Indie Pen Press LLC, 11010 Harbor Hill Dr., Ste. B101, Gig Harbor, WA 98332, USA. The site publishes Bible-study guides to the four Gospels, edited by Richard French. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us through our contact page.
What Data We Collect and Why
Contact Form
When you send a message through our contact form, we collect what you type: your name, email address, inquiry type and message. If you tick the newsletter box, your email address is also added to our mailing list. We use this data to answer your message and, with your consent, to send the newsletter. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not a bot.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to the newsletter, in the footer or on the subscribe page, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. Subscriber data is held by MailerLite, our email service provider. We use it to send new Gospel studies, free study sheets and news of the books. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email.
Free Downloads
The free study sheets are delivered by BookFunnel. When you request one, you enter your email address on BookFunnel's page; BookFunnel sends you the PDF and passes your email address to our MailerLite account so that we can send you a short series of emails about the Gospels and then the newsletter. BookFunnel's own privacy policy governs what it collects on its pages.
Analytics and Advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, which topics are popular and how people arrive. We also use the Meta Pixel, which lets us measure the results of advertising on Facebook and Instagram and show our books to people who have visited this site. Both tools set cookies and load when a page loads. Analytics data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. You can block these tools with a browser extension or by turning off cookies for this site.
Server Logs
Our hosting provider and Cloudflare, which serves the site, automatically record standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring page and the pages you visit. This data is used for security, performance and troubleshooting, and it is not combined with other data to identify you.
Cookies
The site uses cookies for analytics and advertising measurement, as described above. A notice at the foot of the page tells you so on your first visit; dismissing it stores one setting in your browser so the notice does not return. Embedded services (MailerLite forms, Cloudflare Turnstile, BookFunnel) may set their own cookies; see their privacy policies for details.
Buying the Books
Purchases are made on indiepenpress.store, our online store, which has its own privacy policy, and on Amazon and other retailers, which have theirs. This site does not take payments or collect payment details. Links to Amazon carry an affiliate tag; if you buy there we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site:
- Hosting provider and Cloudflare, to serve the site and keep server logs.
- MailerLite, to manage newsletter subscriptions and send email.
- BookFunnel, to deliver the free downloads.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, for bot protection on the contact form.
- Google Analytics and Meta, for analytics and advertising measurement.
- Form processor: contact and subscribe forms are processed by a small service operated by the site owner, which forwards messages by email.
Data Retention
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to answer them and no longer than two years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows the platform's default retention (Google Analytics: 14 months). Server logs follow the hosting provider's policy, typically no longer than 90 days.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time with the link in any email
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Data Transfers
Your data is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using this site you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
